Novato? Why that's a short drive (like 20 min) from Petaluma! I looked at housing in Novato when I first moved here, its nice in that town, I think that some of the places I looked at were too much money for the income I had then, I would hope for you that yer job would up your pay to live in this area. Mine eventually gave me a 12% raise which allllllllmost caught me up with the base wage in this area. I could afford it now, but too late I love petaluma and its too far from my job now in Santa Rosa
So long story short, check out places on Craigs List North Bay,I bet you'll find quite a few that are affordable.
